Stephanie Leonard, PhD recruited as the Center's first faculty hire

We are pleased announce that Stephanie Leonard, PhD was selected in a recent nationwide faculty search for a research scientist with expertise in perinatal epidemiology, relevant postdoctoral experience in perinatal epidemiology with demonstrated performance of independent research. 

Dr. Leonard joined the faculty on December 1, 2022, as an Assistant Professor in the Non-Tenure Research Line and is the first hire for the Dunlevie Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center For Discovery, Innovation and Clinical Impact. Previously, Dr. Leonard had been an Instructor at Stanford since December 2019. During her time at Stanford Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Leonard has established multiple collaborations with Ob/Gyn investigators as well as others in Anesthesiology, Pediatrics and Population Health Sciences. Dr. Leonard is a very productive researcher as demonstrated by over 45 peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding received (e.g., NIH F32 award). She is well-liked among the Ob/Gyn trainees and has supported several fellows and residents with their research projects.  Furthermore, Dr. Leonard has helped to grow and oversee the Ob/Gyn biostatistical core which has provided biostatistical support to many colleagues in Ob/Gyn. Dr. Leonard received her MS from UCLA, followed by her PhD in Epidemiology at UC Berkely. Prior to becoming an instructor, she was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford in the Division of Neonatology and Developmental Medicine.
